Lethal Lake
Ardis Jensen, a university counselor is haunted by her past. Both the
brutal murder of her young sister and years of grueling work as an L. A.
County Sheriff’s forensic psychologist have left their scars.
The grim discovery of a valued professor’s body found in a lake
adjacent to an enclave of wealthy ranchers devastates her and awakens
old fears. The grisly revelation stuns the small, rural community, and
neighbors fear a killer lurks among them
Despite her reluctance, Ardis is drawn into the murder investigation by
the pleas of the victim’s daughter, and the urging of the local police
chief. When suspects begin to emerge at the university and in Beverly
Hills, Palm Desert, and Torgiano, Italy, Ardis herself becomes a target
for murder as the killer tenaciously fights to keep her from uncovering
his dark past.
Despite the danger, she forges ahead, exposing skeletons shrouded in
the university closets and unearthing ugly secrets concealed within the
imposing estates and leafy orchards. As she untangles the webs of deceit
and draws closer to the shocking truth, the killer, fearing she will divulge
his sinister deeds, propels her toward the deadly lake.
